| Applications | Rocaglamide derivatives are also known for their cytostatic effects on cancer cells and have been shown to inhibit protein synthesis. The insecticidal activity of rocaglamide-type compounds seems to be largely linked to the integrity of the furan ring system since aglain-type compounds, which differ from the rocaglamides by the nature of their heterocyclic unit (bridged pyran vs furan ring), were recently shown to be inactive. |
