Venous injection of 20S-protopanaxdiol saponins (PQDS) injection can obviously improve the ECG in Pit-induced AMI rats, alleviate the degree of cardiamyopathy in Iso-induced AMI rats, restrain the release of antistreptokinase (ASK), CK and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), increase the activity of SOD and decrease the content of MDA. PQDS injection has an effect on AMI and anti-lipid peroxidation may be one of its mechanisms.

The transplanted tumor model with Hepatoma-22 and Lewis and B_(16)were established for anti-tumor experiment. PQDS was administered i.g for 10-15 d and the body weight, tumor weight were detected, meanwhile lymphocyte transformation, the activity of NK cells and the contents of IL-2 were determined with MTT assay. After treatment with PQDS 25, 50, 100 mg/kg, the inhi- bition rate(IR) on Hepatoma-22, Lewis and B_(16) were 28.85%, 43.55%, 49.11%; 23.07%, 44.96%, 49.61%; 30.21%, 37.43%, 43.20% respectively. PQDS 50, 100 mg•kg~(-1) also increased lymphocyte transformation, the activity of NK cells significantly in a dose-dependent manner in tumor-bearing mice(P0.05, 0.01). PQDS has the effect of anti-tumor through increasing the activity of body immunity,improving the lymphocyte transformation,the activity of NK cells and the contents of IL-2 significantly.
